Mommy/Daddy
It's interesting how our son has referred to both me and my husband as "mama." As you can imagine, that can be quite frustrating for all of us. I can't tell if he wants me, or if he prefers daddy. I try to imagine myself in his shoes - as he's pointing and saying "mama" only to want me when he's saying mama to his daddy, and vice versa! Often times, I think he does want me, but he absolutely loves his daddy. Makes me a bit jealous some days; however, I can appreciate the late nights when he really just wants his daddy.

Bad Dreams
Somewhere along the way, our little girl started having bad dreams. Just last night, she actually got out of bed and practically ran out of her room fearing for something. When her daddy found her, he about ran into her. Today at school, she also had a bad dream that woke her up from her nap. As parents, we just want to protect our kids and make sure they stay safe - but how the heck do you help them when their minds are so active and are filled with vivid images from what they have seen on television or witnessed for themselves? The best we've been able to do is ask her what's wrong and help her understand that those are just dreams and are not real. She's been pretty good at telling us what she's been seeing in her dreams, but it doesn't make it any easier for us to see her cry and be so terribly upset with things that go bump in the night.
