Slackin'

I think it's been a couple months since the last time we took a picture of our son. I really feel like the second kid or the kid(s) after the first usuallly get hosed. Isn't that the truth? You put all of your energy into your first one - you read everything about childbirth, and consult all of your parent-friends for advice, you buy everything brand new....then the second one comes and poof! You instantly know what you're doing, and stop doing everything you did with the first one. I really wanted to believe that I'd be different and stop that trend. But you just get so busy that you stay afloat by just taking care of the essentials and then call it a day.

This year has more than flown by and already the regret has sunken in. I look at the piles of things that I need to do, and only dream of the things I'd like to get done. Maybe my new year's resolution will include shorter lists and more attainable goals? Like Scarlet O'Hara, all I can say is that "tomorrow is another day." Let's just hope that tomorrow includes some more quality time to cherish life's everyday funny and quirky moments with the babies. Tomorrow doesn't hold them in your arms like the day before, or even today.
